the gentle embrace of sounds
laughing, crying, mocking, dying
I followed their source
impressed by the force
of the siren-like wailing
guiding me through parts unknown

I stumbled upon a forest of pines
with the sweetest scent
Pungent with a touch of snow
Rotten bodies in a row
The dead and the dying around me
denying their fate
how I envied their plight

One tried to grab my knee
one smiled in sympathy
gave me a push, told me to go
and never look back on my dreams

Scream and forget
Change chapter instead
Enter a brand new world
the future unfold

Different worlds, same old woes
Kind and tender killing words
All this bloodshed makes me see red
That's how free men cease to be

I left them behind
and followed the trail of notes
dancing, swirling, notes deceiving
A man dressed in wool, a snake and a fool
An unholy trinity counting
my steps to the shore

And barefoot I ran
my blood on the stones made them slippery
and the ones pursuing me
lost their marbles and their wit
These accidents happen
when creatures misshappen
believe they can conquer the sea

Finally reached the shore
I was prepared for more
and they appeared, dauntless veneer
but melting with fear before my eyes

A black sun took their lives
A giant wave arrives
Enter their water grave
A new way to pave

Different worlds brave new woes
Cold and hard the hands that heal
Worlds uncharted, late departed
